Uniting Infant Mental Health and the Pyramid Model: Alignment and Integration: It's Not for Babies Anymore! Part I

Please join us to explore this important topic with Neal M. Horen, Ph.D., and Robert Corso, Ph.D. This is Part I of a 2-part webinar series.

In our time together, presenters will provide an overview of what led to the concept of writing a book about these two frameworks and provide a theoretical framework for participants.

It is critical to understand how both Infant Mental Health (IMH) and the Pyramid Model (PM) are complementary and can make systems serving children and families more effective, including frontline staff, all the way to policymakers.  We will focus on pulling all of this together. Discussion will include how to take the principles of Infant Mental Health and its theoretical underpinnings and ensure that our Pyramid Model work is consistent. We will focus on how, at every level-the individual teacher, the coach, the program, and the state can be thinking about their role in integrating and aligning both of these frameworks. We will discuss how we approached this integration with an eye towards the commonalities rather than the distinctions.

Participants of this webinar will be able to:

  • Increase their understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of Infant Mental Health (IMH) and the Pyramid Model (PM) Framework
  • Explore the underlying myths and misconceptions that existed in our field that led to the need to articulate the relationship between IMH and the PM.
  • Engage in how IMH and the Pyramid Model align and integrate into the early childhood service delivery system

This webinar is for all of those working in the perinatal period as well as children birth to 5 and their families
