Early Child Development (ECD) 1.0 focused on the relationships that form the core framework of child development.  Key concepts emerged, including ‘toxic stress’, ‘serve and return’ and ‘brain architecture’. This webinar will focus on ECD 2.0, which leverages the science that emphasizes the interactions of child, caregiver, family and community, impacting early development that contributes to a strong foundation of lifespan health and learning.

Participants of this webinar will be able to: 

• Gain a conceptual understanding of genes, environment, and time as conspirators in the development of healthy children
• Define the adaptive processes that are key to development in childhood and adolescence, with skills that have an impact for a lifetime
• Gain an understanding that heterogeneity is the expected variation in building any biological system. Policies and programs that themselves are adaptable are more likely to have an impact than a one-size-fits-all approach
